Devinder is a founder of Principia. He is a Mechanical Engineer specializing in three complimentary areas: accident reconstruction, biomechanics of human injury and failure analysis. Analysis of complex accidents and product failures requires a multi-disciplinary effort. He combines knowledge in the fields of engineering, medicine, biology, and materials science to help find the causes of these accidents and failures. Over the past 15 years he has investigated transportation accidents such as aviation, marine, rail, off-road, and automotive accidents; industrial accidents and occupational injuries involving structural failure, fires, and explosions; and many “everyday” product failures and accidents involving sports equipment, household appliances, and medical devices. Devinder is also a Registered Patent Agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In this capacity he works with clients involved in patent litigation to help with issues of claim construction, infringement and validity.
Currently, he is an appointed Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley teaching classes in Biomechanics.
